What are Injectable Fillers?
Collagen is a natural part of our skin’s support structure. However, as we age, collagen begins to thin and the effects of aging, such as wrinkles and skin laxity, begin to show on the face. Injectable fillers are used to replenish the skin’s collagen layer, causing the wrinkles and lines to smooth out immediately. Patients may also consider injectable fillers to add fullness to the lips and cheeks. At The Plastic Surgery Center of Nashville, we offer a full range of fillers, including the Juvederm® and Restylane® family of products.
Juvéderm® Ultra, Juvéderm® Ultra Plus, and Voluma
There are three specific types of Juvéderm® dermal fillers. Juvéderm® Ultra Plus is a higher linked concentration for areas that need more correction and volume such as in deeper folds and severe wrinkles. Juvéderm® Ultra is specifically made for more delicate areas such as the lip augmentation, fine lines, wrinkles, and folds. Juvederm Voluma is design to lift and contour the cheeks for a more youthful appearance.

Hyaluronic Acid Fillers
Restylane® and Restylane® Lyft are also used in our clinic. These products are made from hyaluronic acid, a natural sugar found in all living cells that attracts and binds water, hydrating your skin and giving it volume.
Restylane® and Restylane® Lyft
Restylane® and Restylane® Lyft are both composed of non-animal-based hyaluronic acid. A skin test is not required with these products. Restylane® is often used in the lips and to treat smile lines and marionette lines. This natural product produces long-lasting skin enhancement. Restylane® Lift is often used in the face and hands to correct volume loss and minimize the appearance of aging. The most common side effects from Restylane® are temporary redness and swelling to the injection site.
Which Injectable Fillers are Right for Me?
A personal consultation with one of our nurses will determine which filler is best suited to meet your individual goals. The cost of your treatment is based on the filler type required as well as the amount of filler needed.
