What are Injectable Fillers?

Collagen is a natural part of our skin’s support structure. However, as we age, collagen begins to thin and the effects of aging, such as wrinkles and skin laxity, begin to show on the face. Injectable fillers replenish the skin’s collagen layer, causing the wrinkles and lines to smooth out immediately. Patients may also consider injectable fillers to add fullness to the lips and cheeks. At The Plastic Surgery Center of Nashville, we offer a full range of fillers, including the Juvéderm®, Restylane®, and Revanesse family of products.

Juvéderm® Ultra, Juvéderm® Ultra Plus, and Voluma

There are three specific types of Juvéderm® dermal fillers. Juvéderm® Ultra Plus is a higher linked concentration for areas that need more correction and volume such as in deeper folds and severe wrinkles. Juvéderm® Ultra is specifically for use in more delicate areas, such as lip augmentation, fine lines, wrinkles, and folds. Juvéderm® Voluma lifts and contours the cheeks and jawline for a more youthful appearance.

Hyaluronic Acid Fillers

We also use Restylane® and Restylane® Lyft in our clinic. These products derive from hyaluronic acid, a natural sugar found in all living cells that attracts and binds water, hydrating your skin and giving it volume.

Restylane® and Restylane® Lyft

Restylane® and Restylane® Lyft both consist of non-animal-based hyaluronic acid. Because of these products’ biocompatibility, you will not need a skin test. We often use Restylane® in the lips and to treat smile lines and marionette lines. This natural product produces long-lasting skin enhancement. Use of Restylane® Lyft in the face and hands can correct volume loss and minimize the appearance of aging. The most common side effects from Restylane® are temporary redness and swelling at the injection site.

Revanesse Versa +

Revanesse Versa + is a new hyaluronic acid filler. Like Restylane, Revanesse Versa + contains HA from non-animal sources, but the HA in Revanesse Versa + has a different formulation than other popular dermal fillers.

Revanesse Versa is a painless, long-lasting treatment for facial wrinkles, including smile lines and marionette lines. Revanesse Versa + can also add volume and increase hydration in key areas, such as the lips, nose, and cheeks.

Revanesse Versa + can lasts up to nine months.

Which Injectable Fillers are Right for Me?

A personal consultation with one of our nurses will determine which filler can best meet your individual goals. The cost of your treatment depends on the filler type required, as well as the amount of filler needed.
