The Sciton laser is used by the highly trained team the Plastic Surgery Center of Nashville to provide a number of effective skin treatments, including the following:
MicroLaserPeel
MicrolaserPeel is a customized, light resurfacing treatment that removes the outermost layers of the skin to improve texture, even out skin tone, and restore a healthy-looking, youthful glow. It is the perfect treatment for patients looking to smooth fine lines to moderate wrinkles without extended downtime. Microlaser Peel is for anyone who wants to improve:
- Fine lines and wrinkles:
- Pigmentation issues:
- Texture and pores:
- Scarring:
- Collagen stimulation
How Does Microlaser Peel Work?
The Sciton MicroLaserPeel is an ablative laser resurfacing treatment that removes the outermost layers of the skin using a computer-guided erbium laser. The laser energy is absorbed by water in the skin cells, vaporizing a highly precise, shallow layer (typically 10 to 50 microns deep). This removes dull, damaged cells and triggers the body’s natural healing process to grow fresh, healthy skin.
Am I a Candidate for Microlaser Peel?
A MicroLaser Peel candidate is typically someone in good physical health seeking to correct mild-to-moderate fine lines, sun damage, acne scars, and uneven skin texture or tone with minimal downtime. Because the depth of the laser is customizable, it is ideal for individuals wanting results stronger than a chemical peel but without the weeks-long recovery of deep resurfacing
What Can I Expect From a MicroLaser Peel Treatment?
Before your treatment, a numbing cream is applied for 30–45 minutes to ensure comfort as the laser scanner is guided over your skin. Afterward, you will experience a sunburn-like heat and tightness for the first two days, followed by noticeable peeling and flaking from days 2 to 4 as fresh, radiant skin is revealed. During this recovery, it is crucial to keep the area moisturized with a protective ointment like Aquaphor for the first 1–3 days and strictly protect your healing skin with high-SPF sunscreen.
When Will I See Results From a MicroLaser Peel?
Once your skin finishes peeling, you will see initial results in 3 to 5 days, revealing a smoother, brighter, and more radiant complexion by the end of the first week. Over the following 2 to 6 weeks, your skin tone will continue to even out as sun damage fades, while deeper collagen production progressively softens fine lines and wrinkles over 2 to 4 months. The overall impact of these results depends heavily on the depth of your peel, and while a single session offers a noticeable glow, achieving optimal results for stubborn scars or wrinkles typically requires a series of 3 to 4 treatments spaced a month apart.

BBL - BroadBand Light
BBL is an innovative technology that sets new standards for skin conditions associated with aging, active lifestyles, and sun damage. BBL energy allows your physician to precisely treat age and sun spots, small facial veins, and many other skin conditions. Your treatment will be tailored to match your skin type and your desired results.
Laser Hair Removal
BBL (Broad Band Light) uses a broad-spectrum light to target melanin pigment in the hairs, causing damage to the hair follicle resulting in less hair growth. It can take multiple sessions to reduce hair growth by 60-90 % and maintained treatments after that. It works best in dark hair on light skin.

ProFractional Therapy
ProFractional Therapy is used for improving the overall appearance of your skin. The procedure is performed in your physician’s office and can be custom tailored to your specific skin conditions and desired outcome. The most treated concerns are acne scars, fine lines and wrinkles and stretch marks.
There is usually 5-7 days of downtime and the area is numbed topically before the treatment for your comfort. Due to the invasive nature of this therapy, a consultation is required before you schedule treatment.
Sciton® Profractional Laser
What is Profractional laser?
A ProFractional laser is a skin resurfacing treatment that uses an Erbium: YAG laser to create microscopic channels in the skin, leaving the surrounding tissue intact. This stimulates the body’s natural healing process to produce new collagen and elastin. Profractional addresses such concerns as:
- Fine lines
- Wrinkles
- Scars
- Tone
- Texture
- Pigmentation
How does the Profractional Laser work?
Sciton’s Profractional is a 2940 ablative laser treatment that uses micro-beams to bore thousands of tiny, evenly spaced channels into your skin. By treating only a “fraction” of the skin while leaving the surrounding tissue intact, the procedure triggers your body’s natural wound-healing response, resulting in rapid recovery and increased collagen production.
Am I a candidate for Profractional?
Ideal candidates for ProFractional laser therapy by Sciton are those struggling with forms of skin damage such as scars, sun spots, brown spots, fine lines, wrinkles, and volume loss.
What can I expect during a Profractioanl treatment?
Prior to your treatment, skin is thoroughly cleansed, and a topical numbing cream is applied for 30 to 45 minutes. During the session, the laser creates precise micro-channels in the dermis, causing a warm, tingling sensation with minimal discomfort. Immediately afterward, your skin will feel hot and look sunburned. Redness and swelling peak during the first 1 to 2 days and can be managed with cold compresses. By days 3 to 5, the skin begins to flake and peel naturally. You must keep the area covered with an occlusive barrier or a gentle moisturizer without picking. By day 5, peeling typically subsides, allowing a return to social activities and makeup.
When will I see results from Profractional?
You will start seeing initial improvements in your skin tone and texture just 3 to 5 days after your ProFractional laser treatment. As your skin heals, deep collagen remodeling continuously works to reveal a smoother, refreshed complexion, with progressive improvements to fine lines, texture, and acne scars lasting for up to 6 months.
SkinTyte Laser Treatment
The SkinTyte procedure is based on the principle of selective thermolysis and utilizes pulsed light technology to deeply heat your skin while cooling and protecting the entire treated surface. SkinTyte can be provided quickly and comfortably with no downtime. The end result is a more youthful appearance.
MOXI Laser Treatment
Sciton’s MOXI is a 1927nm fractionated laser that gently treats visible signs of aging, uneven skin tone, and damaged skin. Effective for the face and body, MOXI treatment addresses skin concerns such as:
- Pigmentation and sun damage
- Skin laxity issues
- Texture issues
- Uneven skin tone
- Wrinkles and other signs of aging
If you are starting your skin care journey or looking for a light resurfacing option you can use year-round, MOXI is a great choice and can be used on all skin types. We recommended it as an effective complement to your existing skin care routine.
How Does the MOXI Laser Work?
MOXI uses non-ablative, fractionated laser energy at a specific wavelength to create micro-coagulation areas in the skin. Following treatment, the body will naturally heal these areas and replace damaged cells with healthy skin.
Treatment typically takes around 8-10 minutes for most patients, with little to no downtime afterward. As the MOXI laser is glided across your skin, you may feel a slight warming sensation. This means the laser is working. Most patients find the treatment comfortable and very tolerable. A numbing cream may be applied to the treatment area before the procedure to minimize discomfort.
When Will I See Results from MOXI Laser Treatment?
Results will vary depending on your level of treatment, but most people see noticeable results within 5 to 7 days. Following your laser session, your skin may appear red, and you may notice small dots called “mends” where the laser was used. As the area heals, it will darken and feel rough. Between days three and five, the mends will start shedding, revealing renewed skin. To help heal and protect the area, wash your skin each morning and night with a gentle cleanser. Keep your skin moisturized and use sunscreen when outdoors.
For best results, most patients will need three to four MOXI treatments (spaced four to five weeks apart), followed by regular maintenance treatments. Our team will suggest the ideal treatment regimen based on your unique needs.
