Patient with abdominal liposuction. Patient had recently gone through menopause and was very frustrated with increased thickening around her midsection. Physical exam revealed mild to moderate lipodystrophy around the umbilicus and in the posterior hip distribution. She has muscular legs and arms and seems to carry most of her excess weight in the trunk distribution. Expectations are important. At 54 years of age we will not have predictable skin retraction, so she will definitely have increased laxity.
