Preparing for Breast Augmentation- 5 Steps to Take Today

Are you considering breast augmentation? Try these 5 simple steps to better prepare for your procedure.

1. Find a Surgeon

One of the most important decisions you’ll make during breast augmentation is the choice of your surgeon. Choose a board certified plastic surgeon with lots of experience performing breast augmentation. Here at the Plastic Surgery Center of Nashville we have two exceptional female plastic surgeons: Dr. Mary Gingrass and Dr. Melinda Haws.

2. Schedule a Consultation

Once you’ve chosen a surgeon, pick up the phone and schedule a consultation. You can reach us at 615-467-6777. To prepare for your consultation, check out these questions you may want to ask. We recommend making a list of questions, concerns, etc. to bring to your appointment. It can be difficult to remember everything you’ve been thinking about when you’re actually sitting down with the doctor. A list of questions can help you stay focused so you can get the answers you need.

3. Figure Out Financing

Breast augmentation is an investment. Financing options are available. Many of our patients choose Care Credit or Alphaeon Credit to finance their procedure. Look into your options and figure out how you’ll pay for your implants.

4. Decide What You Want

Do you want saline or silicone? Textured implants or smooth? You’ve got a lot of decisions coming your way. Of course, you aren’t alone in the decision making process. Your surgeon will help you navigate the complicated waters of breast implants so you can choose a size, type, and shape that you’ll love. Spend a bit of time researching your options.

5. Arrange Your Schedule

Most patients find that recovery after breast augmentation is easier than they expected, but you’ll still need a bit of time off from your regular duties. You may need a few days off from work and to avoid heavy lifting for a couple of weeks. Take a look at your schedule and find a window when you’ll have time.
