Busy Mommy? – Get Your Pre-Baby Bod with Less Downtime

Are you a busy mother? It’s a trick question—there’s no other kind of mother! As any new mom knows, having a baby requires you to stay on your feet from dawn until dusk (and beyond). That’s why, as much as you might want to have a “mommy makeover,” you know that making time to recover from multiple surgical procedures will probably prove to be more than a bit challenging. Fortunately, we’ve come up with the perfect compromise: We’ve pioneered a unique form of mommy makeover that requires absolutely no downtime. By using a combination of different nonsurgical procedures, we can help you look and feel rejuvenated… Without taking much time out of your busy schedule. Here’s what you need to know:

Surgical Vs. NonSurgical Procedures: Understanding the Different Types of Mommy Makeover

If you’re interested in having a mommy makeover, you probably already know that surgical procedures are required to correct certain issues that sometimes arise after pregnancy. Women who sustain significant damage to their abdominal muscles during pregnancy, for example, require tummy tuck surgery in order to achieve a flat, taut stomach. This is the case because only surgical sutures can reconnect torn muscle tissue and help the muscles to heal properly (and therefore support the abdomen). Surgery is also necessary to correct severe skin laxity wherever it occurs. As such, moms who have a lot of loose skin around their stomachs or drooping breasts need a surgical mommy makeover.

Not all moms experience the above issues, or experience them more mildly than average. For these women, a surgical mommy makeover probably isn’t necessary. Instead, they can opt to have a series of nonsurgical treatments that remedy the most common aftereffects of pregnancy, i.e., deposits of unwanted fat on the belly, flanks, and thighs, mild skin laxity, vaginal looseness, and skin discoloration. Our nonsurgical mommy makeover package also includes a few skin rejuvenation treatments that help to combat the visible signs of aging.

Even if you plan to have a surgical mommy makeover at some point, our nonsurgical mommy makeover can help you make a number of aesthetic improvements in the meantime. Many women have to wait until their children are school-aged before they can have a surgical mommy makeover, for a few reasons: One, it takes at least six months to a year to recover from giving birth, so women who plan to have multiple children must wait several years before beginning the mommy makeover process. Two, women who have tummy tuck surgery or breast lift (or augmentation) surgery cannot lift more than 25 pounds for at least two to three months after having surgery. This poses additional challenges for the mothers of young children. Namely, they must hire a nanny to help provide around the clock childcare, which significantly adds to the cost of their mommy makeover. Furthermore, many women dislike the idea of having to be less “hands on” with their children while they heal. For these women, the nonsurgical mommy makeover is the perfect “stepping stone.” It can create significant cosmetic improvements while they wait for the right time to have surgery.

Our nonsurgical mommy makeover package requires little to no downtime, so you’ll be able to return to your maternal duties immediately after having the procedures described below. You can also get started on your nonsurgical mommy makeover virtually any time you like. As long as you’re done breastfeeding and in good health, you should make a good candidate for any of the following nonsurgical procedures:

Introducing Our Nonsurgical Mommy Makeover Package

At the Plastic Surgery Center of Nashville, we’ve developed a unique nonsurgical mommy makeover package that includes both anti-aging and body sculpting procedures. These affordable, convenient procedures will help you recover from pregnancy and embrace being a mom with renewed confidence.

Botox/Dysport

Botox and Dysport are both injectable neuromodulators. (A “neuromodulator” is a type of specialized compound that can safely and temporarily relax the muscles in the forehead and face.) These compounds are used primarily to both treat and prevent wrinkles. Injecting Botox or Dysport into certain groups of facial muscles that tend to cause dynamic wrinkles to appear when we smile, laugh, or frown stops “crease lines” (like frown lines and crow’s feet) from showing. Furthermore, it reduces the amount of stress that’s placed on the skin over the long term, and this in turn can decrease the likelihood of static wrinkle formation. (Static wrinkles are lines that become etched in the skin and remain visible even when the face is at rest. These wrinkles appear because, as we age, our skin becomes much less able to “bounce back” into place after our muscles crease or stretch it.)

HydraFacials

The Hydrafacial offers exfoliation like you’ve never seen it before: Gentle, yet extremely effective. The Hydrafacial process begins with the application of a liquid exfoliant (glycolic/salicylic acid) that dissolves excess oil and built-up dirt and dead skin cells, making them easier to remove. A special applicator is then used to extract all of the aforementioned debris, cleansing pores thoroughly. Finally, the Aesthetician will apply a richly nourishing serum to your skin, leaving it hydrated and glowing.

Hydrafacial serums come in a range of different formulations that are uniquely suited to treating different cosmetic issues. There’s the “BrightAlive Boost” serum, for example, that’s designed to minimize areas of discoloration and create a more even overall skintone. There’s also the “Growth Factor” and “DermaBuilder” serums, two potent anti-aging compounds that target wrinkles, fine lines, and other signs of skin laxity. Finally, patients with age spots can use the “Britenol Boost” serum to lighten problem areas.

The major benefit of the Hydrafacial system is how noninvasive it is (as compared to other leading chemical peels). The use of an exfoliant tool to increase this treatment’s deep cleansing action means that the liquid exfoliant used during a Hydrafacial does not have to be excessively potent. As a result, you won’t experience days of redness or peeling after having a Hydrafacial. Your face will sport a slight rosy “glow” immediately after treatment, then return to its normal hue within a few hours. Meanwhile, the nourishing serum you choose will greatly enhance the luster, volume, and firmness of your skin.

Microneedling Treatments

Microneedling treatments pair wonderfully with the Hydrafacial system. As your Hydrafacial rejuvenates and restores the surface of your skin, Microneedling will act on the connective tissues found in the second layer of the dermis. By strengthening these tissues, Microneedling can give your face a subtle overall lift… Without the use of a scalpel.

How is this possible? This treatment’s mechanism of action is surprisingly simple: Microneedling works by stimulating the body’s “healing reflex.” During a Microneedling treatment, extremely thin needles (like the needles used during acupuncture) are inserted below the skin of the face. These needles don’t cause the patient any pain, as they are too fine to do so, but they are sufficiently invasive to make the body think the skin has been injured. As a result, the body sends a wave of collagen (the substance responsible for keeping our skin taut and healthy-looking) to the treated area in order to heal the perceived damage. This helps to combat age-related collagen loss and therefore minimizes the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, enlarged pores, and other signs of aging.

CoolSculpting

As any mom knows, pregnancy has the ability to dramatically alter the composition of a woman’s body.  Sometimes, even after a woman loses all of her “baby weight,” she discovers that she’s developed deposits of stubborn fat that simply won’t budge—no matter how much she exercises or how healthily she eats. These fat deposits are usually located on the hips, flanks, and lower stomach, making them highly visible and a source of embarrassment for many moms. Fortunately, today there’s no need to engage in dangerous crash dieting to get rid of this excess fat; there’s a better and healthier solution available in the form of CoolSculpting.

CoolSculpting uses a safe, noninvasive process known as cryolipolysis to damage fat cells. During CoolSculpting, an applicator is applied to the patient’s skin; while keeping the skin comfortably warm, it directs extreme cold to fat cells located beneath the skin. Because the structure of fat cells is much more susceptible to damage from cold than the structure of other cells, this process can destroy fat deposits without causing injury to surrounding tissues. Once the fat cells have been damaged, they will be painlessly excreted from the body via the liver and lymphatic system over a period of about two to three months. This results in a 24% reduction in the amount of fat present in treated areas.

While CoolSculpting is gentle and does not usually require any post-procedure downtime, the damage it does to fat cells still triggers the body’s healing response. As such, the brain directs more collagen to the parts of the body that were treated with CoolSculpting, and this increases skin firmness. If you have CoolSculpting performed on your lower stomach, this effect can help to tighten mild skin laxity caused by pregnancy.

Geneveve Treatments

Geneveve treatments apply the principle of collagen infusion to another area of the body that’s almost always damaged by pregnancy and childbirth: The vagina. After giving birth vaginally, many women find that their vaginal tissue becomes looser and less sensitive. This can lead to a number of problems, including reduced sexual pleasure, difficulty reaching climax, and urinary incontinence.

During Geneveve, monopolar radiofrequency (CMRF) energy is pulsed into the connective tissues that support the vagina in order to stimulate collagen production. The collagen heals any residual damage from childbirth that’s still present within these tissues. As a result, the vaginal walls become stronger, tighter, and more sensitive. Most women report an increase in vaginal lubrication and sensation, along with a decrease in vaginal discomfort and incontinence issues, after having Geneveve.

If you’re ready to start restoring your face, body, and spirit after the stresses of pregnancy and childbirth, our nonsurgical mommy makeover provides the ideal place to start. Nonsurgical procedures produce excellent results and boast high rates of patient satisfaction, while also being completely safe, usually painless, and always convenient. So, why not take a bit of time out for “you” and indulge in our bespoke package of nonsurgical mommy makeover procedures? Through the magic of cosmetic medicine, you can get your old body back while also accommodating your busy new lifestyle.
